As prescribed by law, independent audits are performed by external auditors entered on the special list kept by Consob. The Stockholders Meeting held on May 3, 2006 engaged Deloitte & Touche S.p.A. as independent auditor for six fiscal years, pursuant to applicable law at the time. This mandate covers the period 2006-2011.
During the year, the external auditors are responsible for verifying:
- that the company’s accounting procedures are appropriate and that significant operating events are accounted for correctly;
- that the consolidated and parent company financial statements correspond to the accounting records and audits performed in addition to complying with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Deloitte & Touche S.p.A.’s mandate includes limited audits of the half-year condensed financial statements.
