Key Figures

Fiat Group figures related to sustainable development reveal a company in continual change that is constantly seeking new sources of growth. The company’s commitment has included the economic, environmental and social sectors, and provided important successes in recent years.

• From an economic perspective, Fiat Group has exceeded forecast results in 2007:
Revenues: nearly 59 billion euros (12.9% higher than 2006)
Trading profit:  3.2 billion euros, nearly 66% higher than in 2006
Net income: 2.1 billion euros, (78.5% higher than 2006)
Fiat Group extinguished its net industrial debt in 2007, and closed the year with 0.4 billion euros net cash.

These figures are the fruit of emphasis placed on product quality, the sales network and post-sales services; measures that have been guided by a new business strategy which focuses on the centrality of the customer and a new relationship based on listening and dialogue.
The results obtained have fostered the trust of stockholders, institutional investors and lenders.

• The Group’s attention to important themes like the environment and safety have significantly improved the Environmental Management System and the environmental impact of products:

ISO 14001 Certification: 97 certified sites compared to 89 in 2005

From 2001 to 2006, the amount of VOC’s per square metre of surface painted has been reduced by 19% in Fiat Group Automobiles’ Italian plants thanks to new paints with a lower level of solvents, known as “water-based”.

Fiat Group Automobiles vehicles are 95% re-useable by weight thanks to a careful selection of materials and substances that are environmentally friendly (recycled, recyclable or naturally-based), and which are utilized in both the interior and exterior of its automobiles.

Fiat is currently a world leader as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) of vehicles with methane propulsion, using a mix of methane and hydrogen, at around 30%, which exalts the already optimal environmental properties of methane.

• Aware of the responsibility its activities have on the social development of the countries in which it operates, Fiat continually invests in local institutions and organizations. In 200, the Group’s contribution toward communities reached 34 million euros.
