Maserati is one of the automobile industry’s most glamorous companies; steeped in tradition and abounding in racing victories. Established in Bologna in 1914, it won its first Formula One championship way back in 1957.
Today, Maserati is at the forefront in technological and human advances, proud of its roots and history, which is centred around innovation. The models launched in 2007 encapsulate this: from the Automatic version of the Quattroporte to the GranTurismo and the Quattroporte Sport GTS. These cars have been enormously successful and allowed the Company to turn a profit for the first time since 1993, the year the Fiat Group acquired the company.
In 2004, Maserati returned to the racing circuits. In 2007 the Company shut-out its competitors winning the FIA GT Driver, Team and Constructors titles, as well as the Citation Cup, the FIA award reserved for gentlemen drivers.
At the beginning of 2005, Maserati’s ownership was transferred from Ferrari to Fiat.
