Irisbus is one of Europe’s main players in moving people. Along with holding a key market position in Europe, Irisbus is constantly increasing its activities on a global scale. These results are due to continuous investments in the areas of research and development and the excellent technologies applied to its manufacturing processes.
The Company was established in 1999 through an alliance between two large industrial business groups – Iveco and Renault V.I. – both of whom decided to unite their public transportation initiatives by joining forces in their respective bus sectors. Since the beginning of 2003, the Company came under the 100% ownership of the Iveco Group.
Irisbus offers a complete range of means for transporting people: short and long-distance tour coaches, and public transportation and school buses. Every year it sells approximately 10,000 units in more than 40 countries.
What distinguishes Irisbus in its field is the experimentation conducted over the years, in direct collaboration with the operators of public transportation systems, on alternative fuels and new concepts for vehicles: with particular attention paid to environmental impact, passenger comfort and running costs.
