Teksid Aluminum
After its spin-off from Teksid S.p.A. in September 2002 and the subsequent partial sales that the Questor fund carried out in 2007, Teksid Aluminum S.r.l., which is now made up of two production sites in Carmagnola and Borgaretto in the Province of Turin, was re-purchased by the Fiat Group in August 2007 and has been run by Teskid S.p.A. since December 2007.
The Carmagnola site is specialized in casting and producing auto components from aluminium alloys with different technological production methods: gravity casting, and low pressure and “lost foam” techniques. It designs and produces cylinder heads and upper-heads for gasoline and diesel engines. It also makes parts for suspensions. The most important car manufacturers in the world make up its client base.
The Getti Speciali (Special Castings) site in Borgaretto produces casted aluminium, magnesium and special alloys for the aeronautic, railway and biomedical sectors.
Total sales for Teksid Aluminum is over US$300 million of which 50% is made up of products sold to companies other than the Fiat Group.
